I made cupcakes for a fundraiser bake sale a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to make something cute to increase the likelihood that my donation would all be sold! However, I didn't want to do something really time consuming. Enter Rainbow Cupcakes:
These are extremely easy to make and when I checked halfway through the bake sale, they were all gone! Their construction is simple: ice the cupcake sky blue, pipe on two white "clouds" and bend over a section of rainbow candy to make the rainbow. I used Airhead Xtremes Rainbow Sour Strips. One package is enough to make 24 cupcakes - if you cut the strips in 3 pieces. They cost about $1.50, I got them at Walgreens.
A sea of rainbows!
The cupcakes were actually also blue - I found a blue raspberry flavored box mix in the Publix discount bin for 75 cents.
Those are cute! Great idea.
