36 Weeks

This has gone by fast!

  • No new developments in a c-section date.  Basically, if the baby has not been born by July 21, they'll find (or invent) some reason for her to be born that day.  Does anyone else think 3 previous c-sections and being 39 weeks not being a valid medical justification sounds strange?  I think that should be reason enough!
  • In the complaints department - I have had some right leg nerve or vein pain.  It isn't constant and I think it was worse with Caleb.  It was the same leg that time too.  But with A & N I didn't have it.  I'm also having some skin stretching pain that feels like a burn.  My heartburn has not gotten any worse, which is a good thing!!!
  • I'm still sleeping well most nights.  I usually rearrange my pillows a few times - some nights I like the snoogle, some nights I feel crowded by it.  But I usually don't have trouble getting back to sleep.
  • Baby is definitely head down.  She's been facing the same way for quite a while - I feel most movement on the right side.
  • We've picked a name!  Middle name discussions are going on.  Her name is shorter than the other girls, who do not have middle names.  Annalise thinks it's a little unfair that the baby will probably get a middle name and she didn't.  All through this pregnancy I have had a thing for Sherlock Holmes stories.  The name is the name of one of the characters who appears in only one story - which is common of most characters in those stories, but there are very few female characters.  (One of Sherlock Holmes character traits is being untrusting of women.)  So the name is kind of an old lady name (the Holmes stories were all published between 1887 and 1927).  I'd like to choose a trendier middle name to make it not so "old lady" sounding, but it's hard to find a middle name that doesn't "rattle" (something my mom says about names often!).
  • Natalie was born 17 days before her due date, Annalise was born 5 days after, Caleb was delivered early because he was breech.  I have no reason to think I'll have the baby early, so we'll look toward July 21, which is 22 days away.
  • 22 day ago was June 7 - Rob took the kids to one of those kid workshops at Home Depot.  I know they used to be indoors, but this one was outside and they just about melted!

    1. :) When you find out our first name pick, you will know why we won't choose that middle name!
