Bebe Gloton and Cinnamon Toast

I read an article today about a new doll called Bebe Gloton (in English The Gluttonous Baby, I assume it really means the extremely hungry baby), which is a breastfeeding toy - that is a doll that is intended to be played with by pretending to breastfeed it. Both the product and the article seemed ridiculous to me.

1. The article quotes a doctor as saying, “It’s like introducing sex education in first grade instead of seventh or eighth grade. Or, it could inadvertently lead little girls to become traumatized. You never know the effects this could have until she’s older.” - are you kidding me? Do they really think that a child knowing about breastfeeding could be damaging to them? How many children have younger siblings who are breastfed right before their eyes. They are not traumatized, they're taught that this is how babies are fed.

2. The product is completely unnecessary. Little children don't need a special doll to pretend to breastfeed. Any little child who sees Momma breastfeeding their baby brother or sister would naturally pick up any doll (or stuffed animal) and pretend to nurse it - no toy halter top required.

Ok, otherwise, I think the picture is just hilarious. I realized it's written in Spanish, but do they really say, "Bluuurp" for burp?

In other news, Annalise helped me make breakfast this morning. We made cinnamon toast and I turned away...just for a second...

She is so fast!
