Poolin' Around

In addition to eating pie on Saturday, we also went swimming at a local pool.

We didn't mention to Caleb we were going to the pool, so when we pulled into the parking lot, he started squeeling, "Swimming pool! Swimming pool!" and appeared very sincerely excited. Once we were showered up and in the water, he became very nervous, didn't want to play or splash, wasn't interested in being carried to the middle of the pool. About 5 minutes before we left, he relaxed and splashed a little. After we left, all he could talk about was how much fun he had at the pool. The preschooler's mind is a mystery to me!

Annalise had a lot of fun - I think it's sort of the same thing as bread crust. When Caleb was littler, he didn't care if I left the crust on his bread - he would even eat it. But now, crusts begone! (Rob tried the whole, "Crusts are healthier for you" bit, but I've never believed that because the crust is made of the same dough as the rest of the bread, so I cut it off and skip arguing with someone who can't reason.) In short, what I'm saying is that, inspite of her current easygoinging-ness, I fully expect Annalise to be as confusing as Caleb when she is 2 and three quarters.

  1. HA! That's funny. She is just so cute! I didn't like the crusts on my bread either, but I grew out of that. I would peel off the crusts when I ate toast. My daily breakfast as a kid was toast and tang. Kind of has a ring to it don't you think?

  2. I was a pop tart kid myself. Actually I remember going through a cinnamon toast crunch stage too. A summer camp I worked at had tang every day and I never got to where I liked it.
