First Day on the Job

There's nothing like being sick to make you moan, "I want my mommy!", but being sick and having to take care of a toddler really intensifies that feeling! They say a mom "can't get sick" and I understand what that means - oh you can get sick, you just can't be sick. But Rob had pity for me yesterday and took Caleb to work with him. I got to sleep in for a few hours - I can't take any really effective cold medicines, so I'm not sleeping well, but by the time they got home for lunch, I felt like I'd had a full night's rest.

I really didn't think Rob would get anything done having Caleb at the studio, but he put him to work and brought home pictures to prove it!

They started off their day making coffee in the break room. (I'm assuming Caleb didn't get to sample his work.)

Then they did a little engineering work.

Rob had to make some important calls, so he let Caleb help Kelly with her audio production.

They did some administrative tasks like checking the mailbox.

Rob said Caleb also slid cds through the mail slot and put stickers on an old computer. I think Caleb had a good first day at work!

  2. The baby's name is strictly TBA - for three reasons:

1.We want the freedom to change our minds at the last minute (like in the delivery room).

    2. Although I really don't care what other people think about the baby's name, if anyone says anything even remotely negative about our choice, I know I'll second guess it.

    3. We haven't exactly decided on a name...at least I haven't. Rob's vote is already in.

  5. Good idea with keeping the name top secret! It's kind of fun that way, because then it's just between you and Rob. I totally know what you mean about second guessing yourself. I think that when/if I ever have kids, I will want the surprise of not knowing what it is AND I'll want to keep the baby's name under wraps.

  6. With Caleb we didn't find out he was a boy until he was born. It WAS pretty exciting! I highly recommend it. Knowing this time is fun too but in a different way. It's different this time because we have an huge boy wardrobe and not much girlie stuff, so I wanted to know for more practical reasons.
