We have had a very cool few days. I know we are such wimps. I remind myself that in a few months it will be 85 at night and I will be dreaming of the kind of nights we've been having! We are trying not to use the heater. Our concrete block house is so difficult to heat it seems like such a waste (and such a glorious time of not using the a/c!) but I don't dare open the windows in the daytime and waste our precious nighttime warmth.
I have been feeling better more often. I keep trying to be optimistic, I know that there is light at the end of the tunnel, but when the icks hit again my moral just plummets. I'm about 13 1/2 weeks and it's never lasted past 14 weeks for me, so hopefully I will feel like cooking again soon. I have been cooking and eating, but I have had to take as many short cuts as I can find to keep the kitchen time to a minimum. I've also needed less naps. The last two I took I woke up feeling like I wish I hadn't take one, so that makes me think I might not need it so much. When I am truly in need of a nap, they make me feel better.
Caleb made these bunny ears for Natalie. He cracked me up because the ears kept flopping around and he said in frustration, "I need to find a way to reinforce these ears!" He ended up taping twist ties behind them.
Natalie really likes our botany studies. I know she doesn't really understand much of it, but she understands botany is about plants - which is better than I knew a year ago! When they asked me about teaching it I said, "oh sure, bugs and stuff." and the committee member was like, "um, no it's plants." And they still asked me to teach the course!
She brought me this assortment of greenery "for botany":
She made sure I noticed that the grass had a dew drop on it :)
We had a nice day in the Everglades today with Rob's parents and aunt and uncle. Saw a cormorant swallow a catfish whole, which was very captivating! We went afterward to Robert-is-Here and I bought a bag of kumquats because I'd always wondered what they tasted like. Wow, they are intense! I am not sure I like them. But I may try to learn to like them, they are so citrus-y I bet they have about 6 days worth of vitamin C in each one.
