(or "Clewiston: Day 6)

This picture is actually from Day 5, but I thought I'd include it here because it shows the real reason we were in Clewiston - Rob showed off the football field to the kids and me. The station is broadcasting the local high school football games. I really think this is a good fit for the station - it is something the people really wanted and something that definitely involves young people. He is hoping to incorporate the local FCA in the halftime programming.

So Day 6 - Rob's day off - Rob tried to take each of the kids fishing individually (well, except for Natalie!), but *things* went amiss, as things tend to when you combine kids, nightcrawlers, and water. So we all ended up back at the condo and the kids built a circus tent. Caleb wanted terribly to have the middle poking up higher than the walls, but I told him there was nothing tall and thin enough to create the effect he wanted. At first he was discouraged, but...

he eventually got creative!

After lunch we headed out to Pahokee to try some fishing on Lake Okeechobee. The lake is 30 miles across and is surrounded by a levee.

Well, our catch was unimpressive, so we had to buy Rob's
souvenir at a fish market. They invited us to go back and see them cutting up the fish, so my kids have seen an awful lot of butchering over the week!

And for dessert we headed out to the snow cone stand.
It was a fun week, but it really got my routine out of whack and I depend on my routine to keep us fed, dressed in clean clothes, and sane (well to keep
me sane). For some reason, being surrounded by half unpacked bags, plus all the clutter we left out in our hasty trip home mid-week made today very stressful and unproductive for me!
Routine and sanity are a good partnership. I know what you mean. But what a great week!
