Pregnant Brain

I did two very thoughtless things yesterday:

1. I took the kids to the park. It was about 9:30 in the morning and we went to the one nearest our house (walking distance - about 10-15 minutes usually). It was easily 90 degrees and humidity was probably 80-90%. Caleb rode his bike, Annalise rode her tricycle. Halfway there, she got off and refused to get back on. I suggested leaving the trike there and getting it on the way home, but both kids were convinced someone would steal it. It has a handle and is not terribly heavy, so I carried it. Of course then Annalise wanted to be carried too - sorry kid, not possible! Her walking slowed us considerably, it took about 30 minutes to get there. Once we got there, we looked up at a darkening sky, but buddy after that walk, we were going to play for a few minutes! The park benches...in open sunlight, not a smidge of shade. The approaching clouds got darker, we headed home. Annalise still unwilling to ride the trike, we made slow progress. If Caleb had been a little older, I think I would have sent him home to get Rob. Halfway home, Annalise asks to ride the tricycle again. Hooray! We all get distracted by a butterfly. Three-quarters of the way home, she gets off the trike again and we stagger home. But we make it...it's 11am and within 15 minutes it starts to rain.

2. I cracked a perfectly good egg directly into the garbage disposal.

  1. Oh my goodness, you gave me a good laugh, Leah! I'm not sure which episode of pregnancy brain is funnier! Thanks, I needed that.

  2. All pregnant women have been there at one time or another. It is completely normal so don't worry about it.
