Singing in the Rain

Late last week Caleb seemed to be doing his best to avoid an afternoon nap (he's been napping as usual this week). On Sunday he seemed tired, but resistant, so I decided I would strap him into the stroller and walk around our neighborhood to see if that would get him in a sleepy mood. I covered the front on the stroller with a blanket to shield him from the sun and took off.

Rob fixed the roof this weekend and wanted it to rain so he could check his work, but the weather was steadily dry. It was hot hot hot and so sunny. I was feeling my skin burn and thinking how nice it would be if a cloud went over the sun, when suddenly a cloud did! Suddenly, it felt so nice and cool I decided to go in another direction rather than back home. I walked farther from our house.

Of course, then it began to rain. So I got completely soaked, Caleb's bottom half got soaked, and the nap - forget it!

But...the roof didn't leak!

  1. That sounds like something I would do. But then, I love to walk in the rain.

  2. I enjoyed it too, I was just concerned about Caleb getting all wet (well actually I wasn't worried about that since it wasn't cold at all, I was just embarassed at all the people in cars passing by staring at me out in the rain with my baby.) The nice thing is that usually here rain means lightning, which you definately DON'T want to walk in! But this was just a summer shower. Nice, but I was still soaked to my underwear.
