Caleb's Birthday

Caleb turned 12 last Saturday and while he still loves trains, fishing, football, rockets, and firecrackers, he has a new passion - airplanes.  He requested I make him a 747 cake for his birthday.
I was happy with everything except the windshield.  I couldn't get it quite right.  The little windows are mini chocolate chips.  The wings are made of cardboard and covered with fondant.  The engines are rice crispy treat, but somehow mixed with fondant they were way too icky sweet, so even though they are edible, no one ate them.

The girls and I found some relighting candles, so he got to blow the candles out several times.
12.  Of course we are asking ourselves how those 12 years have passed so quickly, they have passed busily and sweetly and Caleb is a thoughtful and helpful (and opinionated) boy and we are so thankful for him.
