Busy Being Busy

Although I like to think I have no illusions about being able to "do it all", sometimes I get frustrated at my inability to do all that I'd like to do.  Usually that boils down to not being able to keep the house presentable, but since I'm not making scrapbooks of my nice clean house, maybe I won't be too regretful of that when I am older.

Speaking of scrapbooks...I'm making progress!
It turns out that putting pictures into a scrapbook is a lot faster than picking out the best ones out of the  9000 pictures on our computer.

Last weekend during the church service, I made an appeal for VBS volunteers.  I want to form a team of people to work specifically on promotion and 7 people signed up.  I also had a couple extra people sign up to volunteer during VBS week.  The craft team is basically full.  Most of the classes have teachers.  The worship rally is starting to take shape.  We have a VBS nurse (someone wearing 2 hats).  The youth volunteer coordinator and I have done some coordinating.  I still have 0 people on the rec team and 0 people on the team I'm calling "Homeland Security" - check in/check out police.  Two issues I'd been fretting over worked out.  So I see all that as progress.
Caleb took the Iowa Test of Basic Skills on Monday and Tuesday.  The most I can get out of him about it is that everyone sat 3 seats apart, he skipped the reading section (but he guessed), and it was kind of fun to fill in bubbles.  Overall he seemed optimistic that he did well.  I'm just happy he had a positive experience.
In other news, it looks like Rob will be going to Haiti in June.  There is a mission group setting up at radio station there and he will go to do some technical work for them.

  1. As a past VBS leader (very ancient history) it sounds to me like you have things really moving smoothly. As for the test taker--looks like he's using his daddy's tactics when he was in school.
