Read the New Testament in 31 Days (or less)

I originally thought that I needed to read 9 chapters a day for 9 days, and I could read 8 chapters a day for the rest of the time and finish on schedule. I had to correct my schedule later on, I think it needed 10 or 11 days of the 9 chapter days, but it was ok because I corrected in the shorter books. I think my reading schedule could be improved because some of the books were divided by only chapter (the 1st or last) and that could have been smoothed out a little. It did work out that the longer days were the gospels, which read a little faster than the letters. Some days it took as much as an hour, other days about 1/2 hour. When I had the opportunity I would break it up over the day, but that didn't happen often.

The take away value of doing this is not the same as an in depth study, but it is valuable. Reading the gospels quickly showed clearly that the recorded miracles and teachings of Jesus really must be only the tip of the iceberg of all that he did. Reading the letters of Paul on the heels of a quick read of Acts made them seem more personal.

Here is the reading schedule I used:

2 - Matthew 10-18
3 - Matthew 19-27

12 - Acts 9-16
13 - Acts 17-24
