Ft. Myers Beach & Early Harvest

I did hear it's been cold in some parts of the country where my readership lives, so I don't mean to rub it in that we went to the beach yesterday.

I think this picture of Caleb is kind of funny - he looks like he is making a muscle pose, but he is really just holding up two balls of wet sand and then his shadow just looks strange.
Our sunscreen is 50 SPF and it really works! Sometimes after being out in the sun, I think we are whiter than before we went out!

Natalie wasn't that excited about the water. She preferred for me to carry her along the shoreline.

We also picked a few peas and a cucumber this weekend.

I knew our pea harvest will be meager, but it is going to be even smaller because I planted them too near the cucumbers. The cucumbers reached out, grabbed the peas and pulled them over. So the peas are just for fun, the kids like to open the pods and eat them raw. Like I've said before, the veggie garden is mostly experimentation for us this year.

The cucumber was very good and we found a few more that are catching up (and several that have quite a way to go). If most of them make it, I am going to have to learn how to make pickles!
