I guess I have gone about as long as I can without mentioning in the blog-world that we are expecting another baby in July. So here it is world - I'm pregnant! I really like the new ticker I found (see sidebar), it is really too bad I didn't decide to "announce" things sooner, because the fruit changes a lot more often in the beginning. But that's ok.
So here are the stats:
*Due Date: July 11, 2010
*but...2 previous c-sections mean a scheduled c-section at 39 weeks, which for me is the 4th of July - nice and easy to remember! And what a fun birthday! Fireworks every year! But: They don't schedule scheduled c-sections on holidays and the 4th is a Sunday and they wouldn't schedule for a weekend anyway, so that said, it more than likely won't be the 4th of July.
*We are planning to be surprised about the baby's gender.
We told the kids tonight - Annalise has been with me for an ultrasound, but she was plenty surprised - and boy was Caleb surprised! He has already decided that it is a boy (a BOY BOY BOY, and don't dare think of getting the baby a doll because it's a BOY and BOYS don't play with dolls!) and if it's a boy, he suggests we name it "Thomas at first, but then change his name to Michael until he's 18" or "Nice" or "Wiggly" - I'm glad he gave us so many options! For a girl, he's ok with "Precious". He also talked to the baby by having me open my mouth so he could shout down my throat!
So why did we wait so long to announce things - basically because I did not have any typical 1st trimester symptoms - I didn't feel sick or nauseated, nothing smelled bad or tasted weird. I wasn't even all that extra tired. I thought that was strange and it scared me some, but one of my friends pointed out that the symptoms didn't just go away, they just never were there in the first place. So now that I am in my 2nd trimester, looking back, that was great. I have heard stories about women who just "didn't know" they were pregnant, and thought who on earth would dismiss 8-12 weeks of "food poisoning"??? But if I had not known, I might have not noticed it. In fact often I've been so busy and preoccupied that I have forgotten.
Thanks again for the phone call from Caleb last night. He was so cute. Hope he's not too disappointed if it turns out to be another sister.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome :) I knew he'd want it to be a boy, I just didn't know how MUCH he wants it to be a boy!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry if it is not a boy. I wanted a sister so badly when Mother was pregnant with Lynn so when he was born I was mad at first but then I saw him and LOVED him from the first moment. Also, I never had morning sickness, tiredness, etc. with my pregnancies and it was great. The only thing that made me queasy was scrambling eggs! YUCK!!! that smell!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! I'm sorry I haven't bowled you over with good wishes before now, but I am excited for you! I hope you keep feeling good throughout the pregnancy!
