The Dominant Male

I know that everyone who reads my blog has been waiting breathlessly for an update on our fish! You probably remember my post from when we first got the fish and how pale and colorless they were. I just wanted to post an update picture of the male molly that lives in our tank:


He is really more colorful than the picture can show. His whole belly going up to his bottom lip is orange, and his tail is just sparkly blue. He is the "dominant male" and I guess Mollies have some kind of complex because he is the only sailfin molly in our tank! All the other fish are mosquito fish (gambusia) and their males now have blue eyes and orangish dorsal fins. The females are just all pregnant - constantly.
