I'm finding out what it's like to have twins. From now until who knows when, two days a week, two weeks a month I'm babysitting for my friend who is a NICU nurse. Her schedule is unusual and her mother-in-law sits the kids occassionally, but there are 2 days every other week that she needs a fill in and that's me.
I'm thankful for the work, but today was exhausting! Her youngest daughter is 2 days older than Caleb, so for all practical purposes (except nursing) it's like having twins. Thankfully she's a good 4lbs lighter than Caleb, which made a big difference when I ended up having to pick them both up at the same time. Somehow I managed to get them both down for afternoon naps simultaneously (however they both missed their morning nap).
For Caleb it's just a place with a bunch of toys he hasn't mouthed yet. He had a great time. My friend has two older kids - 3 & 5. They got along well and played relatively quietly. Once the 5 year old goes to school next month, I think I might even persuade the 3 year old to take a nap and actually have a break somewhere in the day. For now...I guess I'll just go to bed early.
