So Miami! T-Mops

The first time I saw a T-mop, I was mystified as to what it could be. They would be propped up on porches outside. Eventually I realized that they were cleaning tools.  And it turns out, they are the best thing I've ever used to clean a tile floor.

Sometimes these are called Cuban Mops, which is probably why I'd never seen them before moving here.
Instead of using a bucket, I mix dish soap and hot water in the sink and dunk in one of these:
Notice that parts of the package are in English and parts are in Spanish, but not all the English parts are translated into Spanish and not all the Spanish parts are translated into English!
Ring it out to your liking and drape it over the cross bar of the mop and get to work!  The drape method is pretty specific (there are youtube videos - and mine below is not perfect).  My Cuban neighbor drapes hers with such flair it is enviable!  The idea is for the mop to sort of wear it like a shawl.
Or get one of the kids to work!
If there happens to be a tough spot, I pull the shammy over it and rub it with my foot to get the spot off.  The shammy/t-mop combo is also effective at absorbing spills.

After all that, the shammy is machine washable and the T-mop lies flat against the closet wall.

P.S. you can use a towel if you don't have a shammy, that is, if you can find a Cuban T-mop!
