I was talking to a friend this week whose 4 year old daughter still sucks her thumb. They've tried a variety of methods (bribery) to get her to stop - all to no avail. They are going to try a thumb guard. So I sort of re-thought the whole pacifier idea. I gave one to Annalise, she sucked on it a while, then pulled it out and looked at it, set it aside and stuck her thumb back in her mouth!
