The Rose Bush

Miami has a very transient community, our north-side next door neighbor has changed at least 5 times since we moved here.  (Fortunately, I know at least 4 families on our street who have been here about as long as we have.)  The neighbor just before the northern neighbor put in a rose bush.  The current neighbor has been there at least 3 years and so far as I can tell does nothing about the rose bush.  I had assumed roses were difficult to grow, but never having grown one, I don't really know.  This one blooms often, usually one flower at a time, but this week it has 5 or 6 flowers.  I think it would look really lovely if it wasn't covered in dead-headed sticks.

By the way, they are recruiting teachers at enrichment for next year and I am teaching botany again to the 3rd and 4th graders (Annalise is excited because I've never taught her class before - but she has done all the botany activities twice!).  I'll also be teaching a class for the 1st and 2nd grade - possibly about China.
