The Love Wedding and the International Space Toilet

Yesterday we crossed the state to Vero Beach for a wedding - the Love wedding I mentioned in my previous blog. They are a pretty unique pair and the wedding was a lot of fun. It was a beauitful (and hot) outdoor wedding, which Caleb enjoyed because they gave everyone a small bottle of water, but I didn't take any pictures. The tuxedos were chocolate brown, which I'd never seen, but looked really nice with the colors of the wedding.

Now it just so happened that NASA was launching a shuttle yesterday at about 5pm. The wedding was at 3:30 and the reception at 6pm, the time in between was that incredibly long period of picture taking. The wedding was about a half mile from the beach (and Vero Beach is about 1 hour south of Cape Canaveral), so we hoofed it down to the beach and saw the shuttle take off between the wedding and the reception - it worked perfectly because we were in the reception hall not 5 minutes before they introduced the wedding party!

And what is the goal of this shuttle mission? To install a new high powered telescope? To do important scientific experiments? No, the most vital mission of all - to repair the toilet at the International Space Station!

Annalise says, "I like astronauts because they wear diapers like me!"

Back at the wedding, a little sweaty..., the Robbins fam with the newly minted Love family.

Caleb got in on the garter throw. He didn't catch it (this picture shows the first throw, which didn't go quite right).

We got coke in a bottle for the wedding toasts. Caleb shared with Rob.

Then ate a big piece of wedding cake!

Can you say, SUGAR RUSH!!!
